The Client

Eurocine was created in 1994 as an alternative venue for screening European films, whose images representing the culture and ideals of Europe would serve as a meeting point for the Colombian public with the idiosyncrasies of the different countries that make up the European continent.

This event has been held for sixteen years and in 2011 it aims to continue forging links between the festival and the country's graphic designers and/or visual creators. For this reason, the EUROCINE European Film Festival Foundation in Colombia is inviting entries for the public competition to design the official image for Eurocine 2011.

The Job

Design a poster for the 2011' event evoking the different culture of Europe. This design include a slogan to complement the main design.

Typography

Century Gothic is a clean, geometric sans-serif typeface released by Monotype Imaging in 1991, known for its simple, rounded shapes inspired by the 1920s-30s style, built from Sol Hess's Twentieth Century font but adapted for digital screens with a larger x-height, making it highly readable for both headlines and body text in print and on-screen, and is often noted for its efficiency in using less ink.
